#25592 - RE: telephone interface: Shahzad Aslam
Hi Shahzad,

Sorry, I just today saw this thread and seemingly its too late for me to join the discussion which is as usual after first four postings has turned out to be a University Debate on designs, rather that helping you out.

Anyway, You may want to read this.

I have successfully designed hardware + software for a complete "AutoDialer" which has following specifications:

1.It works with memory password that you set.
2.It can dial upto 10 (may be more) telepone numbers (all kinds) on any actuation like a window break in.....(total 16 inputs)
3. It detects "dial tone" before dialing. On No dial tone it attempts after a delay and then if still No dial tone, it quits....
4. It can detect busy and ring after dialing.
5. It waits for xx rings and if nobody responds it dials next number in memory.
4. If anybody receives the call from it then it plays the warning siren or a speech and (with the addition of a small DTMF receiver) it can also tell which zone the intruder has come in.
5. It dials in 03 cycles.
6. If a number acknowledges the warning call then it doesn't dial that number again (only within the on going dial cycle)
7. If you being owner receive the warning call then if you enter the password, then it stops dialing and holds the line for you and also turns a speaker / mic so that you may listen and talk to the intruders.
8. It connects your door intercom with your phone anywhere in the world and you can talk to the visitor at the door. (don't tell the stranger that you are away, heheheeee )

9.You configure all that with the telephone set connected in parallel to it or from remote location by dialing to your line where it is connected. It goes off hook after xx rings and you can after giving the password can change the telephone numbers in memory or can make it follow you for the door bell wherever you go...... (you can locally or even remotely change your password)

It uses 8951 and Mitel (now Zarlink) MT8880CE
(don't use AE version).

Like it ...... :) I am only an email away.
