In fact I'm just a student and newbie on this...I have played the 8051 with LCD, Keypad, servo and so but not interfacing with BUS like ISA, PCI.

The chips suggested by Bruce Bailey looks to be so professional and high grade, I am not sure if it's a high grade one or in fact is really command, but really looks TOO good for me. Except those, is there any low-dollar alternative?

I'm going to take a look at ISC.
BTW, what is "DPM"? I don't understand. Would you explain a bit more? thx :)
