#2611 - RE: How to burn software into chips ?? |
The Philips card may be "P8051LCP40"
I couldn't find information about it other than a tabular listing at their site. The board I'm talking about was published as schematics in the Philips Application Note AN461. The price was trivial, something like $60. Our Dallas representative had boxes of them lying around his office and loaned me one for a few weeks. It has a couple of switches, and power adapter, a serial cable, and a diskette with their serial download program. I think there is a small breadboard area on the board, but you'd really have to add some ribbon cables to connect up with a prototype board. That would be best way to go. You'll need to buy a micro (89C51RC+ or 89C51RD+) from some place like Newark Electronics (www.newark.com). Let me know before you buy one and I'll get you some vectors for some parts. -Jay C.
