...But sometimes beautiful code, however maintainable is still Cr%^, inefficient, resource intensive Cr%^.

Amen !, but where you have written "C", write "current most popular language" - on my wife's programming course at University, a couple of years back, they were SPECIFICALLY told NOT to comment their code, since (Pascal) is self documenting !
