Where can I get a voice coil from to start experimenting?
would a standard hi-fi speaker do the trick?
Would the dc voltage damage the voice coil or not?

What i will be doing here is having a closed loop control system, that means i will be having feedback and all the inertias of the components taken care of.
the decision to be made is:
- do I use PID?
- do i use PD?
- do I use PI?
- do I use phase lead, phase lag compensation network?
- do I use digital control techniques?
- do I use fuzzy logic controller?
- do I use neural network controller?
I guess it would be very intresting and costy too, what i'm trying to do is convince my boss to fund me, otherwise i have to think about a cheaper project.
