If this is any consolation, the AT89c51 costs Rs 55 i.e. 1.15 US$in Pune, India. The Philips 89c51RD2 costs Rs. 350 in Bombay. (All price for a single chip!). Sometime back Sriharsha wrote Rs 275 in Hydrabad, i think he mentioned the quantity as nine. So my neighbours in pakistan have something to cheer about!!
