#28617 - RE: 8880 DTMF transceiver and Call Progress |
"1- how can i use this feature [tone detection] to detect that the phone call(by generating DTMF signals) i made through this chip has been received by the B-Party on the other end"
Do you mean the B-Party sends some DTMF sequence when it answers? In that case, you need a DTMF receiver, not a call-progress monitor. Otherwise, I don't think there is any guaranteed indication of when the call has been answered [1] Some telcos might give you a line-reversal. "2- How can i detect various other tones likes Busy signal, Noraml telephone tone or B Party telephone ringing tone." You would have to determine the frequency & cadence patterns of the call-progress tones for your telco, and program the chip accordingly. Over here, this is getting less reliable, as the telcos are using more recorded anouncements instead of tones :-( [1] this is why consumer plug-in analogue-line call meters are not usually very accurate: they just can't tell when the call is actually answered (ie, when the telco starts charging) |
