That problem also got me. My "soft notouch" method good for frequent development code changes is to restore all SFR's to reset value, then jump to fc00. Tis won't work if watchdog is active.

AP is immediately activiated without a reboot. Then the PSEN method is used only on rare occasions when this fails.
