#3260 - RE: BASIC-52 vs. BASIC-31
Whether someone writes code in assembler, 'C', Pascal, or Basic is a decision that has to be made on a project-by-project basic.

Being a good programmer and/or consultant isn't just writing tight assembly code (something I very much like to do too), but also recognizing the best option for a project. The best option isn't always assembler, it isn't always 'C', it isn't always Pascal, and it isn't always Basic. Being locked into a given language or environment without even giving a thought to other options isn't going to get anyone to the Bahamas quickly.

Check out this article, I found it to be very interesting and good reading with some valuable advice for all of us, and I think it relates directly to some of the exchanges that have been going on in the message forum here at 8052.com lately.
