Hi Matt,
Look at some of the camera interface chips from the likes of Phillips, Maxim, Burr-Brown (TI), they offer the kind of double sampling conversion and clock sequencing you need, as well as on board 12 bit A/D and high speed memory. I think some even offer IEEE1394. An 8052 would be flogging its guts out to scan at realistic rates without an ASIC or something external. The clocks are tri-phase usually. You would need to pull data at 12 bits at 1 Meg/sec to sample one frame in one colour in 1 second. 3 secs /frame +mechanical overhead, 24 fps, 72 seconds per second of film ? Steve |
