But regarding the costs for the Cygnal 100MIPS micro, wouldn't it be an option to move to a 16bit type, like a small 166/ST10 or a XA (8051 upgrade)? You shouldn't try to use a PIC for the task, since the MIPS for this micro are applied to the PIC instruction set (~30 NOP derivatives). The Philips 2 clock part (28Pin version) is already available (< $2 I think). If the price is that important for you, you could check this part out. (link is on the left somewhere) |
