Which brings up the argument about built in self test.If you think that you need a bist function because your system may fail at power-up which is the most likely time then you can write a bist function which runs at start-up but you cannot be 100% sure that the memory holding the bist function will work properly.So in the end the bist or post or whatever you want to call it passes,but it may be faulty itself. |
