#44237 - RE: reading a rotary encoder Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I'm not sure to have well understood what you mean Erik.
What is an ol'rotary switch with stop removed ? The use of the rotary in my application is the same as we can see on some lab instruments to set the frequency (for example function generator or RF generator) or on commercial HF transceivers to set the RF frequency. It needs to have no limited revolutions, it can turn and turn as a wheel. Then the microcontroller has to determine the direction and the number of pulses. Usually, there is no revolutions holes (you were speaking about vibrations) as you said or very soft ones. Functionnally it could be replaced by an UP and DOWN push buttons, but the feeling is really not the same for parameters adjusting. So, come again please with your solution and let me understand what you're speaking about. You know, sometimes, my english isn't as good as I would like... Stephane |
