#44664 - RE: FONT problem ITALIC Responding to: ???'s previous message |
changing from MS to Linux is the same as getting infected by a mayor virus. Don't get it to serious ... Been into Lindows and Linux. Been there, but returned to 'safe' ground.
You're kidding, right? I switched from Windows to Linux back in February and haven't looked back. I can safely say I won't be running Microsoft Windows on this or any future computer and it is quite a satisfying feeling getting that gorilla (Microsoft) off your computer. For what it's worth, I use Win4Lin to run the few Windows applications that I must (since I occasionally have to have 100% Word compatibility or produce a Windows application in VB/VC++). It turns out that EVERY Windows application I've tried runs significantly faster under Win4Lin under Linux than it did on the same notebook running Windows XP (except for Intuit QuickBooks which is disgustingly slow under ALL configurations). I kid you not. I just wanted the capability to run those apps when it was absolutely necessary--I didn't even think that they might actually run FASTER. :) Free the full potential of your computer: Ditch Windows!
