I need to measure current of a DC motor. The current sensing element is a 75 millivolt shunt. It gives 75mv for 2000 Amperes. The DC motor is fed with 900V dc supply. What precautions are necessary to interface the signal with the micro? The resolution required is very low i.e. only 10 steps. I am thinking of using a two stage single ended 324 amplifier followed by an LM331 VFC so that I can isolate the signal using an optocoupler like 6N137.
