at my university days I had one day 'some' DC voltage 'dropping' across small finger of right hand. We had to test GaAs microstrip detectors which were biased by 100VDC via high ohmic current limiting resistor. I can tell you that I had real pain for some days.
Arrangement of bias voltage was changed after that.
