#46373 - RE: USART vs. UART Responding to: ???'s previous message |
a data tranfer scheme in which bot tx and rx use the same clock or some sync signals, is called sync data transfer. while absence of sync clock makes it async. sync signals can be use for short distances, like, to transfer data from memory or periferal to PU or between themselves, say device residing in the same chasis. when dealing with long distances its hard to sync rx/tx by sync clocks so async method is used. abhishek |
