I need to develop a sensor for detecting the presence and absence of a car. The system has to be static, i.e. it cannot rely on the changes in i.e. magnetic flux while the car drivers over a coil. To save power, the system needs to be powered down most of the time, temporarily powering it up, look for a car, and then power it down again. Any suggestions?
