I also have a pet peeve when engineers (and people that think they are engineers) draw schematics with logic symbols that are incorrect. Here is the graphic that Erik was thinking about. Each gate on the left of each row is the same package but the DeMorgan equivalent logic symbol is shown on the right. There are equivalent logic signals for 3, 4, 5 and even 8 and 14 input gates.



People who have spent time working with PALs and GALs probably have a better understanding of DeMorgan's Theorm than those who have not. That said there is no excuse to be using the wrong logic symbols on a schematic. ALL of the mainstream schematic packages I have used support the multiple symbols for logic gates.
