8085+8155 pair makes a 51 like thing with timer ROM and ROM plus some ports, this 8155 (also 8755) is designed to accompany 8085. if you want to things with external ciruitury, 8085+8155 (multiple ports) does it for you with less external cicuitury with nice chance of io expansion.
