there several biochemistries of blood, test kits are available for those, the kits specify a wave length range in which the the concentration is to be measured. my instument has 8 differant filters distributed in visible spectral range. like 380,420,490,520,620,700 etc. these filters block the other colors and let go the specific range which pasess the 1 cm path through the solution. solution absorbs the light in proportion with the concentration of the substance in the solution. this abs has to be measured.
