#49537 - RE: Is it April already??
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Farshid,

Good grief, I already said here "Methinks you misunderstand what (not who) I was laughing at." I guess you missed that.

You said "But you are completly off topic. i have been asking you information about running linux on an ARM based system."

Now you are saying that, but before you said "It is intresting to know that you even can run a linux on the 8051 based architecture." Then you also said "Is the ARM an 51 derivate? ... I have been reading that somewhere else...".

What, not who is being laughed at, is that someone out there, not you, is looking down at his 8051, thinking its an ARM, and attempting to breed said 8051 with Linux. The guy has got to be thinking "Why doesn't this fit?". That's hysterically funny. Craig says "it just seems wrong on so many levels..." "to leave it open.". He was referring to the merit of leaving the thread open. I take the word sequence "it just seems wrong on so many levels" and am thinking about that phrase out of its context and it becomes hysterically funny (to me). It's just like what I was thinking -- there's just something unnatural about it -- this unholy union of 8051 and Linux -- it just ain't right! Sort of like human cloning. Sort of like growing human ears on the back of a mouse. Sort of like breeding a male elephant with a rabbit. Images of Dr. Frankenstein in his lab come to mind. But the doctor must charge on trying to create the beast, for the benefit of mankind, thinking "They've ridiculed me and banished me to working in my dungeon-like lab -- I'll show them!"

Oh, and guess what? You weren't in any of those images. Once again nobody is laughing at you. If you knew anything about the 8051, you'd be laughing too!
