i have personaly seen Some DIMM RAMS getting destructed by the ESD. we remove the DIMM put on a woolen cloth ,cleard the DIMM slot put it back again and the DIMM was gone. In school time we did an expreriment (not related to eletronics but for fun), one of us sat on a plastic moulded chair on a carpet, one of us sat on it, putting his legs ups such that not touching the graound, a woolen sweater was rubbed on the back of the chair, one other thoched him , standing on the ground and had a shock, we turned the light off, now we can see the sparking between two guys ;-). we extend this further and now the man on cheir charged again and this time touched by a flourocent Tube , now we saw the tube blinking.

Mr. karas is right . i've seen many add on magzenes companies making thin ESD band, and all the Stuff. if these companies are real. its also real.
