#50467 - RE: Bad Understanding Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Dear Kai,
I have some clarification on 24bit Sigma Delta ADCs. In precision balances say 2000.000 gram, they are able to offer 1mg accuracy over limited temperature range (15 to 30 degree Centigrade). It is approximately 21 bits flicker free. The tranducer is Magnetic force restoration type with temperature compensation for magnetic field. In this type of balances, they are using AD7710 or like 24bit sigma delta ADC. They use about 90% of fullscale input range for measurement. So it is practically possible to achieve more than 20 bits though the software for the above is complex involving Filtering, temperature compensation etc. What is your view on this Mr.Kai. Thanks V.Nagarajan. |
