So, is there another way to program these chip than using a parallel programmer ?
To the best of my knowledge, the x2 chips are a low cost version of the Rx2 with, among other things, the ISP removed. For mass produced toys, microwaves and such ISP is totally irrelevant, but cost is not. My guess is that Philips came out with the Rx2 and thought all was well until price pressure forced them to come out with the X2. The reference to AN461 only confirms my low opinion of techwriters.
