Can you please through some more light on the CPLDs and how to use them ,if you don't mind.
Download ISPlever from the Lattice website and you can, as you prefer, read the documentation on Abel or schematic capture. There is one 'advanced' language as well, I consider it a joke, you have to state the same about 18 times to make that shitty VHDL compile.
