#51571 - RE: RS 485 auto termination Responding to: ???'s previous message |
...Does your re-post of this subject suggest that the RJ type shorting bar jack is not suitable for this current application? The RJ type jacks are actually quite good for a lot of applications. The plug has the snap in locking tab that keep the connector attached once it has been mated
The RJ you suggested in the previous round (connector hunt) would be excellent if I could trust the installers and maintenance people. I have seen many telephone connectors with the detent tab broken off. Knowing the brilliant people working on the busses such a connector would just be put in again and "the signs work". This will, of course, only last till the first pothole. Thus I am hunting for a screw in solution similar to the plugs we are currently using. Erik |
