#52051 - RE: Long Press To Switch ON/OFF
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Thank you Mr Menno,

Please advice if my understanding below is not true

Let say I connect the Gate pin of FET to P1.0. Then S1 and S2 is the double pole single throw switch. S1 I connect between Drain and Source pin. S2 I connect to P1.1 with pull up resistor (active low).

During Long Press to ON :
The Drain and Source pin will short circuit, thus will make complete loop to power on the micro. At the begining stage of my firmware I will put logic '1' to P1.0, this will trigger the FET to ON.

During Long Press to OFF :
My firmware will periodicly check P1.1 for logic '0'
If the switch is press, my firmware will start the timer for the required "Long Press" then put the logic '0' to P1.0

Another thing, can anyone suggest the FET part number which commonly used for this application.

Thanks

Parif

I simplify the curcuit diagram below.
