#52121 - RE: ON/OFF racing Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Waiting for the switch to release does not solve several problems. It is extremely unnatural from a human engineering standpoint to wait till the release of the switch for the action to occur. People expect the action at the poke time. They also prefer if the action is quick and seemingly instant at people speed.
I do not deny that my circuit also requires some software consideration. (Anybody wants to discuss them off-line just email me). However I have studied the on/off problem from a single switch for many designs and looked at the proposals from many other persons. All that I have seen have had their problems!! The circuit I show solves those problems quite nicely. I will also point out that this circuit builds very small with surface mount components, is very inexpensive to build and is now in use in 1000's of medical devices I have worked on. I know there are some of you that will say it still seems too complicated. Fine then...go build it your way. I work to build the best products from a user standpoint, not always the simplest or easiest to implement. MICHAEL KARAS |
