Since the thread regards offending remarks...

A few weeks ago Andy Neil prefaced a comment with the thought that perhaps he was being a "pedant". In an answering post, i indicated he was assuredly being a pedant.

Horror upon horror, i find my use of the word pedant "A schoolmaster; a pedagogue" is now considered "antique" and is more often understood as " a pretender to superior knowledge". Such is the half life of the English language.

A long time reader may note Andy often enforces grammatical clarity upon this board, at least, this is what i meant. Apologies.
