#55004 - how strobe works ? |
According to the author "a strobe pulse, active low pulse of few microseconds enables the Address Latch Enable (ALE) of ADC high thereby placing the addresses A, B, C on the address lines for selecting channel.Strobe is also given to the “Start of Conversion (SOC)” thereby the SOC signal goes high and the conversion starts and typically the conversion time is 100 microseconds."
*A Strobe pulse is generated when data is written to the inputs.
Strobe actually goes low during the active low pulse which lasts for few ms. How can it enable SOC HIGH and that too for a conversion period of 100 ms. what role does the latch 373 play here? does it reflect the inputs during the short strobe pulse and latch on to them as soon as the pulse vanishes till the next pulse arrives with new inputs.
