I have never heard of this before. Searching www.google.com didn't turn up any reference material. Is there any information you could reference to this matter?

All of the manufactures (Atmel, Texas Instruments, Phillips, Nationial Semiconductor etc) recommend these type of circuits for external oscillator Mahmood suggested, could they all be wrong?
