You seem to be working under the false assumption that, if a given piece of hex code runs on one 8051 derivative, then it must necessarily run on any other arbitrary 8051 derivative!

This is not the case!

As Erik pointed out in your example last year, this will work if and only if you have verified in detail that every single specification on the two devices is compatible!
