Hi Dan,
How about "Keep it simple"? What's wrong with an external clock IC? A 4060 IC and a 32 kHz crystal could provide a 2 Hz external interrupt and you never have to worry about complicated timing cycles and interrupts. It would provide the accuracy of the crystal which can be compensated for by a variable capacitor. That is about as good as you are going to get! It's seems your way is to complicated for all of the type of 8051 derivatives. Regards, Charles Bannister |
