Probably 599 million of them have this resistor, capacitor combination as a reset circuit working perfectly satisfactory. The other million is probably temperamentally caused by poor design and so called professionals that don't really understand what they are doing
I am actually surprised to learn that a company like Philips can be succesful when it does not know what it is doing.
