To the best of my recollection (not very good with Atmel parts) you need to change the bootloader to change ISP, but not to change IAP.

Can you explain whet you mean there ?


Another solution would be to change to the Philips chip that has all the load routines in ROM and just call them using the code library from esacademy


The library is just assembler routines to setup the registers for a call the IAP entry point... they didn't write any code that does anything more than that.

Perhaps Fernando can tell us the reason for wanting to change the bootloader, and then we will know if ROM bootloader is OK. In any case I would still go for the ATMEL part as it is byte-writeable and doesn't require erasing of Philips' large, poorly-choosen flash segments.
