#57663 - RE: 16 Bit MCU based on 8051 Core
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Although i should point out that although it will run all the 8052 instruction set,it has an extention to the instruction set to allow it to perform 16 bit MOV's
So it acts as a 8052 if you feed it 8052 instructions. With all its bits and peices a standard 8052 takes about 10.5 Kgates with the 16 bit extention takes about 30 Kgates as the multiplier/divider is a single cycle job so it is pretty huge.
