To be honest Ragu, why not just use a plastic pot and measure the output voltage from a potential divider. If you use the voltage reference to the pot as the voltage reference to the ADC, you should get a nicely ratiometric sensor, of "infinite" resolution - and zero hassle. Wear is unlikely to be a problem.
If it IS , then think about an RVDT instead. Differential capacitor anyone ? Steve |
