#59764 - RE: Interrupt trigger type again Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Raghu: As good of sample ideas as I can think of.
Daniel: The choice all depends on the nature of the interrupt application. Level interrupts are often used when there is a handshake needed to the interrupt source to cause it to stop interrupting. Some interrupt gurus would argue that a level interrupt with a handshake scheme is intrinsically more reliable becasue it is sure the software will see the interrupt and then end it upon seeing it. In a similar manner some gurus will claim that an edge interrupt is intrinsically less reliable because there is no handshake with the external peripheral and also that edge interruopts are more susceptable to noise because a noise spike could cause a false interrupt.
