#60480 - SSR problem
Hello...
I know the subject is a bit off topic, but i'll ask anyway.

I'm using an SSR, input 3-5VDC output 240VAC, to control a 10Watt neon lamp on 220VAC mains.

When I connect the SSR(OFF state) to the lamp and the mains, the lamp starts blinking with approx. 2 sec interval. I mean the lamp is off for 2 sec, then lights up(about 1/2 sec), then off again for 2 sec.

Why is that happening? The lamp should be OFF all the time because I didn't give any input on the 3-5VDC control side.

To keep it on-topic, i should mention that i'm using AT89C52 as the controller :)
When i give "high" input from the C52 to the SSR, the lamp turns on OK, so no problem on the controller side.
The problem is when the SSR is in it's OFF state, the lamp is blinking.

Am I doing someting wrong? Maybe i should not use SSR to control neon lamp?

Thanks,
marcel
