SSR = Solid State Relay, yes?
By "Neon lamp" do you really mean just a neon lamp, or a fluorescent lamp (complete with control gear)? When I connect the SSR(OFF state) to the lamp and the mains, the lamp starts blinking with approx. 2 sec interval. I mean the lamp is off for 2 sec, then lights up(about 1/2 sec), then off again for 2 sec. Sounds like you are not swiching OFF "hard" enough - you have a classic relaxation oscillator? ie, the off state gives enough current to charge stuff up gradually (2s) until the "neon" strikes, but not enough current to maintain the discharge one it strikes, so it goes out as soon as everything's discharged (2s). |
