#60489 - Previously Unsolved problem. Using Modem |
Hi Everyone,
I got a problem getting the modem dial out a number. Earlier threads in this forum were not of much help. My code is available at: Here (no Pop-ups)
Task:
To make the modem Dial out a Number.
Hardware:
Philips P89C51RD2HBP chip running at 12MHz.
Modem (D-Link, 56kbps External Fax/Voice/Data modem)
Main Routine Sequence:
Initialize the SFR's (using Timer2 as Baud Rate Generator)
Send "AT" to Modem .
Wait for "OK" Response. If received response is OK then glow an LED
(neg. logic for LED)
If response is "OK" then transmit "ATDT123456".
(dial some number, and if it works well,
i get to hear an Engaged/Invalid Number message).
Wait until the user alters the status of P1
(via 7 dip switches, the 8th pin is connected to LED).
Once altered, Transmit "ATH" to the MOdem. (to Hang up).
Verified Using:
1. Debugger in Keil C.
2. Hyper Terminal.
Both give me accurate results.
PROBLEM:
But when I connect the actual Modem, all I see is that the Tx and Rx
LEDs on the Modem are constantly ON but does not Dial.
(God knows what those two guys are talking).
SOLUTION:
Yet to realise.
Im Stuck, Harsha. PS: The Cabling is also Correct. |
