3. I said the cabling was correct, as I used the same (3-core) cable (that I am using to connect my micro and the modem) to connect my PC and the modem and still achieved the result. That could well be your problem! Both the PC and your 8051 should be DTEs; the modem is a DCE. A DTE-DTE lead requires a crossover; a DTE-DCE lead does not. NB: This would explain why you see both Tx & Rx LEDs constantly lit on the modem! |
