#61033 - RE: reset/supervisory ic: Cypress respon Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hmmm... So you suggest to follow their line and use the simple RC network instead of a reset/supervisory chip. But if you look again the response they sent me in the start they say that I may use a supervisory chip. Just to be careful with the 10msec reset time. And I would like to use one... From all the information I got from you, it seems that such chips are really useful and give you a tremendous help for avoiding unexpected disfuntcions of your embedded design/device.
I was looking in Maxim's site for supervisory chips and I have one question: Does it matter if the /Reset output is push-pull or open drain? For open drain you need an external resistor to drive the /Resets you want. Am I right? So what's the big deal? Push-Pull or open drain /reset output? George |
