#61098 - RE: reset/supervisory ic: Cypress respon Responding to: ???'s previous message |
My comments were mainly addressed at Cypress making a stupid part.
Well, I don't know about that. The only thing I know is that the chip has great features. In fact it is exactly what I was looking for when I started the searching for my mp3 player project: 8051 core, USB 2.0 high speed, easy ATA interfacing and many I/O pins. Also Cypress offers great support with many application notes and reference designs. Especially this one convinced me to use Cypress EZ-USB FX2 uC. Don't forget that this is the case for a student like me, cause from what I have seen SMSC and Texas Instruments have 8051 derivatives with the features I wanted, but without the support that Cypress offers. Also it was easier for me to purchase Cypress' development kit for the FX2 uC as well as the uC itself and at a reduced price ;) You already know that a student designs with diferent criteria from a real pro... I am not an exception on that rule ;) George |
