#61038 - RE: reset/supervisory ic: Cypress respon Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Does it matter if the /Reset output is push-pull or open drain? For open drain you need an external resistor to drive the /Resets you want. Am I right?
the usual answer: that depends. Some processors output a reset on the reset "input" when the watchdog bites (beware this information is usually buried deep in the datasheet), with such a device you need open drain, for those where reset is an input only it does not matter. The mistake I have seen most often is reading "reset" when the pin is "!reset". Make sure the reset polarity is the same for the suprevisor and the processor. Erik |
