#61720 - Perspective - Arif Responding to: ???'s previous message |
First I wish to reiterate that my earlier message was not to discourage anyone. When you say that you are going to do something, most react with a "All the best. Go ahead " which in my opinion is just a gesture of courtesy. But few point out the pitfalls - take it in the right spirit and you are THAT much safer.
Yes I am aware in very great detail about Reliance, Dynalog and thier owners. You could have mentioned Nirma and Hotmail also. These are great rags-to-riches stories. And in each case, if you had taken care to analyse the success - there will be some element that was unique and clicked : Costing, timing, product nature, revolutionary concept. OK, let me not go on a marketing Guru.. I am glad that both Mike and Andy have come out with certain more warnings. I am sure the Mumbai market abounds in manufacturers of Temperature controllers - you can get one such controller with a single set point for about Rs 1000 (20 USD). Anybody who can solder an IC on to a PCB, will be doing these controllers - but have you ever checked if they make millions ? On the contrary I know many such and they struggle for survival. Please be aware that something easy to do WILL be done by MANY and in such competition - you can never hope to make even thousands let alone millions. Sridhar : Check this forum for PCB design software. It has been discussed at length. Eaglesoft is a keyword! Raghu |
