#62459 - RE: Demonstration Layout - Kai Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Its terrible to play the ""doubting Thomas" ,especially as Kai has used so much of his valuable time designing it. As the board stands - Paul will have to have to use a BASIC programmed chip (and I not sure that he has stated that he wanted to use BASIC). If he cannot procure the Intel 8052ah - BASIC or eqv , he will have to program a blank chip with a BASIC core. This presumes that he has access to a programmer. If Kai had not used a shortcut when laying out the address lines ,Paul could have slightly modified the circuit to accept a standard eprom in /EA fashion (and Kai has put a jumper for this). Although again this presumes that he has access to an eprom programmer. I know that Paul has purchased an 8052 , but would it not have been better to design the chip around a modern Philips or Atmel ISP chip. I sure it would have been a better approach. |
