To move data from the PC to uC (and uc to PC)using RS232 ,you can create your own set of ASCII based command codes and program a command interpreter in the uC. When the uC recieves a command from the PC it calls the necessary subroutine - which in your case may be to copy the following names to eeprom or suchlike.

Jon Ward (of Keil Software) has released an example of how to do this. Type the following into google.
