There is (as far as I know) no such thing as "USB memory" such items refer to "USB disk". USB is basically a serial protocol. Implementing a USB slave is fairly simple (Cypress chips), however the "USB disk/memory" is a slave and must thus be accessed with a USB master, and THEN thing get tricky.
